Break Me Down The Breaking Trilogy Book 2 edition by M Mabie Literature Fiction eBooks
Break Me Down maintains that subtle rhythm we first got addicted to in Break My Fall. Picking up right where we left off in book 1, M. Mabie gives Myra the chance to truly shine. Sure, Abraham is going crazy not knowing what happened to her or why she suddenly disappeared after a family cook-out. But as the story progresses, it's like a whole new world has opened up for Myra and she doesn't waste a single minute on what doesn't feel right. Or who may or may not really want her.Break Me Down's path is nothing like I thought would occur nor did I anticipate ever rooting for Myra the same way I did Abraham. But getting to watch another 'new' life open up for her, I was beyond proud of Myra for finally taking a stand and figuring out just what she wanted and needed. That may or may not include Abraham and I enjoyed being as anxious as he was at what the ultimate outcome might be for both of them. Would prior influences still separate them? Could they really leave their past forbidden lives behind? And where has she been? These are the questions that kept me on edge as I continued on.
It's honestly all up for grabs as both Myra and Abraham each have to contemplate the future in the most delicate of ways to see whether or not their journeys can meld as one.
We're left with yet another obstacle at the book's end and the next detour in their very bumpy road to happiness. I love the way the story has unfolded thus far and the ease in which Mabie's words flow almost effortlessly. She's taken what could have been just a simple story and gave it the right amount of complexity to keep it engaging.
Break Me Down is the perfect continuation to the Breaking Trilogy and I happily give it 5 solid stars!

Break Me Down The Breaking Trilogy Book 2 edition by M Mabie Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Break Me Down is the he second book in the Breaking trilogy by Ms Mabie. At the end of book one, we are left with a cliffhanger, that the author delves into from the start. We find Abe at his wits end because Myra has taken off and he has absolutely no clue where she's at. Abe has sworn to protect and watch out for her, after she leaves the religious cult his father is the head of. Blaming himself for her disappearance he's relieved to find out she's been staying with another couple whose home shefledto. Myra overhears a conversation between Abe and Ted, and becomes panicked when she realizes everything she's ever believed in is a lie. What exactly are Abe's intentions for her?? Is this another man with his own personal agenda? Feeling confused and lied to, Myra begins to figure out she has to get control of her life, gain some independence and see if the marriage between her and Abe can go forward. Abe will not be denied, he fallen in love with the shy, and quite young woman, and he's determined to win her back, but he knows he has to tread carefully and win not only her love but especially her trust. I loved we got see the characters grow in this second installment, Myra taking charge of her life, and Abe realizing that Myra is truly the woman he wants to spend his life with. The shy and awkwardness between the couple was sweet, but the intense attraction between them grows the more they are together. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
I was eagerly anticipating the release of this next part in The Breaking trilogy and it was everything I hoped it would be.
After the way things were between Abe and Myra I was worried about her vulnerable state of mind. Would she put faith in what she has learnt since she met Abe or will she revert back to what she has been conditioned to be?
Myra does a lot of soul searching in this story. She is trying to find herself, find purpose in her life away from everything she once believed to be true to this new way of life. She knows that she needs to learn to stand on her own two feet and make decisions based on what she really wants. She needs to take a step back from everything going on with Abe and think about her future with him.
Abe is messed up over Myra, he has genuine feelings for her but is worried that he may have already lost her before they have even really begun. He never wants her to feel the way she did living in the cult she grew up in but he fears that he is no better than the men she grew up around.
Proving to Myra that he is worthy of her is going to take patience and time but Abe is willing to do anything to prove to Myra that what they had was real and that they deserve a future together.
I absolutely loved this second instalment in Abe & Myra’s story, the hesitant innocence and vulnerability was so well done. I’m excited to see what else is in store as these two move forward in their life journey together.
We got to know a lot about Abraham and who he was in the first book in this series, Break My Fall, partly because Myra had no idea who she was outside of the cult in which she’d been raised. In Break Me Down Myra’s growth arc is fantastic, she is incredibly strong and independent, especially considering her very questionable upbringing.
After the intense, heartrending tale that M. Mabie told in Break My Fall, it was good to see a little goodness in Break Me Down. At first, I was angry at Myra for running, but as the story went on, I understood she had to. She needed to find herself by herself. No matter how much Abraham tried to let her make her own choices, Myra would have been influenced by him because of the brainwashing she’d been through at the hands of the cult she’d been born into.
I think Abraham needed the time and space alone, too. I don’t think he would have trusted his feelings were anything but born of obligation had he not been forced to spend those weeks without her. Abraham is a good man, with amazing morals and a giant heart, but he would have always questioned his motivations about Myra and his love for her if things had gone any differently. For as much as I hated that they had to spend any time apart, it made their love stronger.
Break Me Down is the second book in M. Mabie’s Breaking series. These books are interconnected and must be read in order. Break Me Down is written in dual first-person perspective, narrated by Myra and Abraham.
