Gertrude Gumshoe Murder at Goodwill Volume 2 Robin Merrill Books
Once again, Robin Merrill makes me laugh out loud! I am so delighted by Gertrude, the quirky title character in this series. This murder mystery is fun and light-hearted. Getrude is quirky, a cat lover rogue investigator who tickles my heart as she seeks out the most entertaining and absurd ways to help solve a case. Gertrude believes that when people glare at her or look at her like she's crazy that they are the ones who have no sense of humor. A very fun-packed joy ride!Gerturde, Gumshoe: wacky and clueless, yet somehow her oddball choices make sense.

Gertrude Gumshoe Murder at Goodwill Volume 2 Robin Merrill Books Reviews
Sure, Gertrude uses a walker, as a support, for climbing, and as a weapon. And, sure, she's fairly impolite. But don't call her old. Maybe the reason I love this wildly unconventional gumshoe is because a little bit of Gertrude lurks within me. Not really homeless, although she has been, Gertrude and her many cats live in a dilapidated mobile home which is full of the many treasures she hoards. Old salt and pepper shakers, napkins and condiment packets from the hamburger join - you name it , she's got it and they all help her solve mysteries and sometimes, protect helpless murderers. "Murder at Goodwill" moves along rollickingly. While you pick up clues, you also meet a wide variety of interesting people. Here's a line from this book which gives a good insight into Gertrude's thinking, "She did, however, find a forklift. And the keys were in the ignition."
Love Gertrude!
Still laughing could not put the book down. Writer needs to write more Gertrude books. Loved this book a lot
Gertrude finds a body at the Good Will after which she takes s a job to figure out who killed her. There was an ugly green lamp beside the body and she gets in to trouble trying to find this lamp because she is sure it is important evidence
This is the second book in this series. Just a treat to read an amusing, humorous story about a older woman who fancies herself as a detective, who lives in a trailer park, and who like to play at being a gumshoe. Very good 😊
I found myself laughing out loud at Gertrude's antics. Such an entertaining story. Great character development and interactions! Writing so down to earth , descriptive and realistic that I was running movie reels in my brain. Fun read!
Gertrude, who was first introduced to readers in Grace Space, has once more shown us why were love her. She's a no holds barred kind of gal who sees what needs to be done and does it. Gertrude lives in a trailer park surrounded by her "stuff" and her cats. While out to Goodwill to buy some presents she finds a woman murdered... in Goodwill. She's determined to solve the crime since she knows she can do it faster and better than the local police. This means, of course, that she needs to get a job at Goodwill so she can look for the murder weapon and figure out which employee committed the deed. This is nirvana to Gertrude as she is surrounded by all kids of "stuff." Gertrude once more proves her prowess as a gumshoe. I, for one, can't wait to see what she mess she gets into next.
